Its use as a cheap filler in beauty products allows manufacturers to bulk out formulas without adding any value, which is something we will never believe in. Here we break down exactly why talc doesn’t make the cut at Minerelle:
Why Talc is a NO-GO for Minerelle:
- It is used as a filler: Talc is added to formulas to “pad out” products, not enhance performance.
- It blocks pores: It can clog the skin, leading to congestion and unwanted breakouts plus worsening of skin conditions.
- It disrupts skin function: Talc can interfere with your skin’s natural ability to breathe and regulate itself.
- It is linked to health risks: Talc has been associated with long-term health concerns, including cancer, particularly when contaminated with asbestos.
- It is a contamination risk: Talc is mined near asbestos deposits, and even trace contamination can pose serious health risks.
- It is not ideal for sensitive skin: Those with acne-prone or delicate skin may find talc exacerbates irritation or inflammation.
What Minerelle does differently:
