We’ve all been there: you drop your beloved makeup and now you have a cracked compact. You favourite eyeshadow, blush, or foundation is now a broken mess!
But don’t worry — we’ve got the fix! Here’s a quick guide to restore your mineral makeup compacts to their former glory so you can continue enjoying them.
What You’ll Need:
- Rubbing Alcohol (70% or higher)
- A spoon or something flat for pressing
- A paper towel or tissue
- A small plastic bag (optional)
- A clean surface
Step 1: Gather the Broken Pieces
Carefully collect all the broken pieces of your cracked compact. If it’s a powder that’s crumbled, don’t panic — you can still fix it!
Step 2: Crush Larger Pieces
Use a spoon or similar tool to crush any larger chunks of makeup into smaller powder. You want to make sure the makeup is as fine as possible.
Step 3: Add Rubbing Alcohol
Slowly add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the powdered makeup. Start with a little and mix, then keep adding more until you create a paste-like consistency. This will help bind the powder together.
Step 4: Press & Smooth
Once you’ve mixed it into a paste, place a tissue or paper towel over the compact and press down firmly with the back of a spoon or any flat tool. Press it down until it’s smooth and compacted again. This step is crucial for getting that solid finish.
Step 5: Let It Dry
Leave the compact to dry for a few hours. The alcohol will evaporate, and your makeup will set back into a solid form!
Step 6: Enjoy Your Makeup Again!
Once dry, your mineral makeup is ready to go! You’ve just brought new life to your favourite product.
No more wasted makeup — fixing your cracked compacts is easy and quick! Plus, it’s a great way to make sure you’re getting the most out of your products!
