Our Promise

Made in Australia

Minerelle has been created and made in Queensland, Australia.

All Minerelle products are manufactured in Queensland. Minerelle is a Brisbane based business which focuses on using premium, toxic-free and natural ingredients.

Full ingredient disclosure

Minerelle offers full ingredient disclosure and not just a listing of ‘active’ ingredients. Full disclosure means that you can be satisfied that the Minerelle range is based on quality, non-toxic ingredients that support the health of the skin. The natural, plant-based and vitamin range offers outstanding performance and a brighter, more radiant skin.

No animal testing

Minerelle does not test on animals nor do we purchase ingredients that have been tested on animals. All our testing has been done on women who live in Brisbane. We say a special thank you to all the loyal ladies who constantly volunteer to test each new product we develop.

No genetically modified ingredients or organisms (GMO)

Minerelle does not use any genetically modified ingredient.

Genetic engineering is used in crops mostly to improve output and resilience or to introduce a new trait to a particular plant. As Minerelle is focussed on plant-based ingredients, we have been very careful to avoid any genetically modified organisms or ingredients. As we don’t know the long-term effects on humans or the environment, it is better to avoid them altogether.

No perfumes or fragrances

Minerelle does not use any perfumes or fragrances as these can be highly irritating on the skin.

95% of chemicals used in fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum. They include benzene derivatives, aldehydes and many other known toxins and sensitizers. Minerelle does not use any form of perfume or fragrance.

No talc or fillers

Minerelle does not use talc or any fillers.

Talc is used as a filler in make-up to ‘pad out’ a product. Talc interrupts the normal breathing and functioning of the skin. It can block the pores and cause break-outs and has been linked with cancer. Although talc is a mineral, we believe it is a ‘bad’ mineral and so we do not use it in our formulations.

No nanotechnology

There are absolutely no nanoparticles used in any Minerelle product.

Nanoparticles are particles that are so small, they are measured in billionths of a meter (nanometers). They can pose a serious health risk when inhaled or absorbed into the body.

The most common use of nanoparticles is in zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in sunscreens and there is serious concern that the small particles might enter the skin and travel through the body. There are different forms of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide used in make-up. Only some are made with nanoparticles. The titanium in our products is fine but no nano-sized particles are used whatsoever.

No propylene glycol

Minerelle does not use any propylene glycol.

Propylene glycol is often used in moisturisers, shampoos and conditioners and other personal care products.  It is a synthetic product obtained from the hydration of propylene oxide which is derived from petroleum products. Minerelle does not use propylene glycol because of it petroleum derivative.

No parabens or nasty preservatives

Minerelle does not use parabens or any nasty preservatives. Our mineral make-up does not require a preservative. We mainly use ‘anti-microbal aromatic’ as the preservative in our skin care and this is derived from almond and vanilla leaves.

No bismuth oxychloride

Absolutely no bismuth oxychloride is used in any of our products.

Bismuth oxychloride is used in make-up to give a pearl-like finish and is a fine white powder that adheres to the skin. It is used in many mineral cosmetic brands but not by Minerelle. Bismuth oxychloride can inflame sensitive skin, cause flare-ups with rosacea and worsen cystic acne due to its unique crystalline structure. What happens is that the crystals can “stab” at the skin and get stuck in the pores, where the sharper “spokes” can cause irritation. If you’ve ever had a reaction to mineral make-up, it was probably the bismuth oxychloride that caused the problem. Minerelle is completely free of bismuth oxychloride. So, although bismuth oxychloride is a mineral, it is one of those ‘bad’ minerals that we avoid.

No Sodium Lauryl Sulphate

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is used to make a product foam.

It is found in many soaps, cleansers, shampoos and even toothpaste. Although it is considered safe in the quantities used in personal care products, it is an irritant affecting the eyes and skin and the irritation usually increases with continued use.

Minerelle skin care has been developed with sensitive and reactive skin in mind and so no sodium lauryl sulphate has been used in any of our formulations.
